Have you ever thought about matchng outfits with your little one? The craze grew once Kim Kardashian started to twin with her toddler, North (super cute). Parents might want to match their clothing for a range of reasons – let’s explore why.
- It can be a cool trick to get your toddler dressed quicker in the morning! The novel idea of dressing like the parent you look up to can be really fun for your child, so if you’re struggling to get them dressed before each outing, this might be a cool trick to try! (Don’t rely on it though, because you will eventually want to fade this out).
- It can make the child feel closer to the parent, especially if they are an only child. Many kids see other kids that have siblings, and they often might feel a lack of that ‘friend’ presence. When a parent matches their outfit, though, they can feel like they fit in with you in a different light! Mother/child? No! We’re Friends!
- It allows your child to explore new types of clothing that they might not want to try out on their own. However if they see a trusted parent wearing the same or similar thing, they may be more willing to experiment.
Ultra-cute family pictures – duh!

Now here’s the interesting part: where do you find matching clothing?!
Well, you have to be a little bit creative. Sometimes you won’t be able to have an outfit that matches in exactly every elements, but if you both where a similar white shirt, or the same scarf, or the same colour sweater – you achieve a similar look.
Our advice is to use matching branded items that are usually available for children and adults (e.g. a Burberry scarf or Adidas Superstar Sneakers).
And of course, there are cool websites that sell clothing that is exactly the same, for the sole purpose of matching outfits with your little mini-me!
